The calm before the storm

T-minus ten days until London. I could not be more excited or nervous. I will be graduating in August, and this will be my last class before the big bad world comes knocking at my door. It's unreal to think that my college experience will be over soon, but now is the perfect time to look back on what I have learned and look forward into the next leg of my journey. Kent State University, I will miss you, but I like to go out with a bang. London here I come!
Insights, Insights, Insights!
Before this class, I was all over the place with where I wanted to go after graduation and what I wanted to do.
After searching for the perfect area of expertise and doing extensive research on it, I feel more grounded. I don't know why I didn't see this before. (I guess I wasn't very insightful.) I am now in search for an account services position in which I can incorporate my learning's about insights into real life.
Chuffed as Nuts to explore London
This section is obviously about what I have learned about my destination. (Check out this website in order to find out what "Chuffed as Nuts" means: Soda Head)
Anyway, I have researched different boroughs of London and listened to countless presentations regarding the endless tourist and career opportunities London can provide. Through all of this, my list of desired destinations has grown extensively.
I have also learned how to take aesthetically appealing photographs, the importance of budgeting, and the need for planning.
Me, Myself, and I
Throughout this class, I have learned so many important things about career goals and networking. I plan to make connections while in London that will enable me to further my career. The ability to experience globally, twice, what most people don't get to experience nationally, is an amazing opportunity. I plan to get as much as I possibly can out of this experience and carry it with me throughout my lifetime.
I could not have asked for a better class to explore with, or better teachers to guide me. Overall this has been the most amazing experience of my life, and I cannot wait to get to London and continue the adventure.
Cheers!

Learning about London
by Brendan Hayes
What I learned at home
All in all, this has been a pretty fun semester. I learned a lot about creative work––how it’s produced and what makes it good/bad or successful or not––and if nothing else, the class gave me an excuse to go knocking on some agency doors around Cleveland and New York City.
What I learned about London (without going to London)
Two tourism projects I worked on earlier in the semester opened my eyes to a few must-sees once I touch down in London, like a Jack the Ripper walk, the British Music Experience and my crumpet list topper (like a bucket list, but British), the Banksy tour.

What I learned about myself
After spending three months studying other people’s thinking, and in turn, metacognitively studying my own––I’d like to think I’ve learned a lot about what goes on upstairs (Not heaven. You went too far). But creativity, by definition, is constant change. So if people truly are creatures of habit, then the mercurial nature of creative work makes it jarring, disruptive and flat-out unnatural. In other words, a creative brain is an insane brain. Conan O’Brian calls it “making a living off of something that should be treated.”
Spending a semester studying creativity has been like trying to nail sand to the wall.

It’s safe to say I know less than when I started.
Other than that, I can’t think of anything witty, clever, funny or even remotely interesting to follow that up with. By Chuck’s definition, I guess that makes me the most creative person in the world.
Cheers to that.
