An Ode to the Sound of Music

Raindrops on roses? Whiskers on kittens? If you haven't seen The Sound of Music, I would highly recommend it, or at least go google "My Favorite Things" and listen to Maria sing one of my favorite songs of all time. If this assignment wasn't given to us to blog about for our class, I probably would have done so anyways. Putting a pen to paper -- or in this case type to screen, allows people to understand why you like things as much as you do.

Having a photographic eye may give way to an interesting list of my favorites. For instance, I LOVE doors and doorknobs. In Europe they are so much more visually appealing than back in the states. While living in Florence, I had a roommate who even made a scrapbook specifically of all the doors we had seen in each country we visited. Brightly colored, large, and obnoxious handles make for an exquisite photograph. I also love street signs. And in this case -- street art. All over London, let alone in just Clerkenwell, the helpful hints plastered on the ground or the signs make for a great subject to shoot.

Besides all of the doors, streets, agency tours, and sites we have seen, I am a firm believer that the people you travel with make up the majority of your feelings about a trip. This group of 21 travelers has been surreal. The amount of laughter we brought over from the states only proves how close we are becoming in such a short amount of time. My experience wouldn't be the same without any of them.

Watch my short video on my favorite things and you'll understand! Cheers!
