My top ten tourist traps.

Picture
As I plan for my travels to the wonderful land of London, I’m quickly realizing that I want to see and do everything. To organize my activities, I have come up with a list of the top 10 places I must visit. Keep in mind, this list is not in any specific order, but I must visit all of these places for one reason or another!

1. Parliament
2. Tower Bridge
3. London Eye
4. Buckingham Palace
5. O2 Arena
6. SIS Building (MI6 Headquarters)
7. Chelsea Nightlife
8. Brixton Academy
9. Thames Boat Tour
10. Warner Bros. Studio Tour

To me, Parliament is the identifying symbol of London. Home of Big Ben and The House of Representatives, this is one place I cannot wait to explore. As a child, I remember watching the 5thHarry Potter film and admiring the building’s stature as Harry, Ron and Hermione raced across the landscape on their broomsticks. As I may not have a broomstick to fly on, I certainly can experience this monumental structure from the ground level.

Along with Parliament, come the Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. Being three more iconic experiences, I cannot wait to see them with my own eyes.

In addition to being a Harry Potter fan, I am an even bigger addict of the James Bond series. I watched all the movies, played the video games and even pretended I was 007 for a couple years. One place I’ve always wanted to see is the MI6 headquarters in the SIS building. Maybe once I’m there, M will notice my stealthy skills and recruit me as an agent. That or maybe I’ll just suave my way into Moneypenny’s corridors.

Along with visiting all the tourist traps, I want to live the London life as a native would, in a sense. This includes hitting the town and experiencing the nightlife. Besides the local pubs and classic restaurants, I plan to visit the luxurious nightclubs of Chelsea, go to the O2 Arena, and watch A$AP Rocky at Brixton Academy.

Last year, the Thames Boat Tour was a big hit for my fellow Global Advertising and PR companions. At the end of the trip, the group got together and traveled across the river, saying one last goodbye to this wonderful town. I know this year we will be taking the Warner Bros. Studio Tour together, but I hope we will also get the chance to journey across the river as well.
